room”
Quite a small space, may be difficult to set up a number of shots
Limit the amount of people and objects in the room
Library
School Library
For lyrics: Easy access
“I swear she lives in that library
But if you ask her she'll say, "That's where you'll find me!" |
May be a lesson in the school library at a time we would like to
film. We have to stick to the rules of being quiet
Ask librarian if we are allowed to film in the library and what would
be the best time to film there
Bathroom/Toilet
School Toilets
Transition from ‘good girl’ to ‘bad girl’
This is a public place therefore other people may be in the shot so
we would have to get their permission for them to be in the music video. The
space is quite small
Film during a time of day where the toilets are least likely to be
used
Sneaking out of doorway
Outside house/door
For lyrics: “But she sneaks out the window to meet with her boyfriend”
Planned doorway/walkway is quite small and we don’t want to block it
to people passing by
Try to film during a time in the day where the walkway is less likely
to be used
Street
Outside house/outside school
Chorus: “Whoa oh oh oh- oh whoa oh
Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught Whoa oh oh oh- oh whoa oh Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught” |
Have to be careful of vehicles
Try to film during a time in the day where the street/walkway is less
likely to be used
Studio
Art studio/ a room with all white walls which allows us to put duct
tape on the walls
Series of mug shots of all cast i.e. boyfriend and girlfriend messing
around, adding the fun ‘pop’ element.
Lyrics: “Do do do d-do do do do do do
Good girls are bad girls and good girls are bad girls Do do do d-do do do do do do Good girls are bad girls and good girls are bad girls” |
The art studio at school may be being used by art/photography
students when we plan to shoot
Book ourselves in to use the art studio or use a plain white room in someone’s
house

Analysis of Digipak Adverts
Katy Perry 'One of the Boys' Album Advertisement Poster
Katy Perry's album advertisement poster for 'One of the Boys' uses a similar image to that seen on the front of her album cover, this creates a link between the two media products. This allows the advert to be more recognisable and allows the audience to make links between more Katy Perry productions. The image of the artist is a long shot so that you can see the full costume of the artist showing clearly that this is from the pop genre. The image is also very clear and powerful with the font next to it. The font is a 'Katy Perry font' creating a band identity for her. On the side it reads "Includes the hit 'I Kissed a Girl'" which may make an audience want to buy the full album if they recognise this song.
Jessie J 'Who you Are' Album Advertisement Poster
Jessie J's album advertisement poster for 'Who you Are' uses the same image as the album front cover, this creates a link between the two media productions and makes it recognisable for an audience. The colours used are not typical of the pop genre however we can still recognise that it is a pop album because it uses gold font, this may suggest that this album has some hip-hop elements to it as well. The advertisement poster uses media convergence by including the aritsts website, this may help to bring in a larger audience or even a secondary audience.

Analysis of 2 or more Digipaks (CD Cover)
Rihanna 'Loud' Digipak:
This Digipak for Rihanna's 'Loud' album fits in with the pop genre conventions as well as what the target audience would like to see; it is girly, bright and 'pretty'. This Digipak features a front and a back cover, two CDs and a middle page that. The same image has been enlarged and spread across the CD pages making it bold and interesting for the audience to look at. The background compliments the front cover by the continuation of similar colours and the same mise-en-scene. The image on the inside includes red roses which match the colour of the artist hair as well as having a slight pink hue throughout the whole product. This is very bold and eye catching even for someone who may not be from the target audience. The continuation and link between colours and images gives it a slight 'brand identity' as it makes it recognisable for the audience if they were to see it again or if they saw another digipak by the same artist.
One Direction 'Up all Night' Digipak:
This Digipak for One Direction's 'Up all Night' album also fits in with the pop genre conventions as well as what the target audience would like to see. This time the album does not look stereo-typically 'girly' but we know that the target audience is still mainly girls as they are the group that are most likely to like One Direction. The front and back cover have a slight white hue the the images making it seem slightly romantic (romance be a subculture that this particular target audience may be interested in). The front cover is very eye catching as the image is large and the band all have exciting facial expressions and body language conveying to the audience that the music is also going to be very 'exciting'. The CD inside is a bright red, a colour which the band use a lot within their branding, giving themselves a brand identity, again it is very eye catching and clear and the font contrasts with the shocking red colour. There is not much text on this digipak making it simple to look at and clear and this is something that the target audience would like as it offers them a sense of escapism from their everyday lives of going to school.
