Analysis of Digipak Adverts

Katy Perry 'One of the Boys' Album Advertisement Poster

Katy Perry's album advertisement poster for 'One of the Boys' uses a similar image to that seen on the front of her album cover, this creates a link between the two media products. This allows the advert to be more recognisable and allows the audience to make links between more Katy Perry productions. The image of the artist is a long shot so that you can see the full costume of the artist showing clearly that this is from the pop genre. The image is also very clear and powerful with the font next to it. The font is a 'Katy Perry font' creating a band identity for her. On the side it reads "Includes the hit 'I Kissed a Girl'" which may make an audience want to buy the full album if they recognise this song.

Jessie J 'Who you Are' Album Advertisement Poster

Jessie J's album advertisement poster for 'Who you Are' uses the same image as the album front cover, this creates a link between the two media productions and makes it recognisable for an audience. The colours used are not typical of the pop genre however we can still recognise that it is a pop album because it uses gold font, this may suggest that this album has some hip-hop elements to it as well. The advertisement poster uses media convergence by including the aritsts website, this may help to bring in a larger audience or even a secondary audience.
